Get to know our marketing manager, Mark Redmayne in our latest Q&A. Mark coordinates Figure 1’s marketing initiatives in the United States and Canada. He conducts media outreach and book publicity with a focus on the U.S. market while implementing social media and corporate marketing strategies.

How do you normally start your day?

A brisk walk to work which buys me enough time to wake up then straight to the kettle to make a pot of tea before settling down to work.

What noun best describes you?

Tricky biscuit.

What are you reading at the moment?

Lara, the managing editor recommended Sweetland by Michael Crummey. Poetic writing and always wonderful to explore Canadian lit. Recently I’ve been reading a number of plays by David Hare.

In two sentences or less, can you tell readers something unique about your line of work?

I get to work with a variety of brilliant authors. We work together to brainstorm creative ways to spread the word about their passion be it a cookbook or a book on guitar inlay art.

If I weren’t a marketing manager I’d be….

A playwright.

Not many people know this, but…

I don’t like peanut butter. It just wasn’t a thing I ate growing up in England.

What’s the question (and answer to the question) no one has ever asked you but you wish they would?

Q: Are you tired of people asking if you’re related to Eddie Redmayne?

A: Yes.
