Steve Cameron becomes Vice-President of Figure 1 Publishing
Figure 1 Publishing is delighted to announce that Steve Cameron has signed on to be a co-owner of Figure 1 Publishing. As well as being associate publisher, he will become vice-president and will assist publisher and president, Chris Labonté, with a number of ownership and shareholder duties.
“Steve is a talented, caring, and experienced publishing professional,” says Chris Labonté. “I am confident that his energy, curiosity, and fresh ideas will prove a massive benefit to our ownership group and to Figure 1 as a whole.”
Based in Toronto, Steve leads acquisitions for the company in central and eastern Canada and the United States. He also edits and project manages up to a dozen titles annually for the Figure 1 program.
“Making books has been my passion for the last fifteen years,” says Cameron, who joined the company in 2021. “I am so thankful to have the opportunity to join the Figure 1 ownership team. The books we produce and the authors we work with are fantastic, and the team at Figure 1 is simply the best I’ve worked with. This is our tenth anniversary, and I can’t wait to see where we take Figure 1.”
