Deal Announcement: “Open to Think” by Dan Pontefract

Figure 1 Publishing is proud to announce it will be publishing best-selling author and TELUS Chief Envisioner Dan Pontefract’s new book, Open to Think in September 2018.

Society has lost its grip on what matters most: the ability to think. There is a widespread cultural tendency toward quick decisions and quick action which can lead to greatest successes but more frequently epic failures. Dan Pontefract has witnessed the collapse of “open thinking” and believes should leaders want highly engaged and customer-savvy employees, a better way of thinking must be introduced. In Open to Think Dan suggests that in order to mitigate calamities such as a relentless pursuit of action mixed with the pressure to “do more with less” individuals and teams must combine creative, critical, and applied thinking.

Figure 1 Publishing is excited to be releasing Dan’s third book, which is a call to be creative, critical and applied thinkers. “It is a privilege to bring Dan’s newest ideas to readers around the globe,” said Jennifer Smith, Figure 1’s Associate Publisher. “I was fortunate to publish Dan’s first book, Flat Army (Jossey-Bass 2013) and I am as excited now as I was then. Dan’s thinking on leadership and organizational development is nothing short of inspiring.”

“I am thrilled to join Figure1 Publishing,” said Dan Pontefract. “The team is made up of open, collaborative and purpose-driven people. Perfect partners for an author like me.”
