Where the Power Is wins 2022 City of Vancouver Book Award

Congratulations to Karen Duffek, Bill McLennan, and Jordan Wilson for being the recipients of the 2022 City of Vancouver Book Award for Where the Power Is: Indigenous Perspectives on Northwest Coast Art. In collaboration with the Museum of Anthropology, University of British of Columbia.

This award is given to authors who contribute to the appreciation and understanding of Vancouver’s diversity, history, unique character, or the achievements of its residents.

The award was presented at the Vancouver Writers Fest on October 21.

Where the Power Is: Indigenous Perspectives on Northwest Coast Art is a landmark volume that brings together over eighty contemporary Indigenous knowledge holders with extraordinary works of historical Northwest Coast art. It is also the recipient of the Tom Fairley Award for Excellence in Editing and was a finalist for the Roderick Haig-Brown Regional Prize (BC and Yukon Book Prizes.)
